Why do I have to enter layovers?

Meal expenses are deductible for a pilot or flight attendant; however, it isn't the actual cost of a pilot or flight attendant's meals that gets written off.  It is the per diem rate associated with the crew member's layovers.  Because CONUS or OCONUS per diem rates change with both location and date, EZPerDiem provides a way for crew members to enter layovers next to the date they occurred.  Then, EZPerDiem automatically calculates  the M&IE expenses based on the information entered.
