Why is it important that the date be correct for a given layover?

The per diem rate for a given location also depends on the date.  Some locations might not have a per diem rate change at all during the course of the year, while others could have several changes for a given airport code.  Simply enter your layover next to the appropriate date, and EZPerDiem figures out the correct rate to use for the Final Tax Report.

Each year, the GSA (CONUS) and Department of State (DoS) (OCONUS) review and update per diem rates.  We load the new per diem rates from these sources so they are accurate.  But even for a give tax year, a per diem rate might be different at different times in the year.  For example, you could enter the code "XYZ" in January and see it is a different rate than in June or December.  This is common and normal.
