What can prevent me from benefiting from flight crew tax deductions?
First and foremost, you must itemize. Because employee expenses are an itemized deduction, if you only take the standard deduction, you will not benefit. This usually mean that if you do not have other itemized deductions like mortgage interest, you should not use EZPerDiem.
Another important factor would be the type of trips you fly. If you only fly out-and-back (i.e. day trips) that do not have layovers, those trips will not add to your per diem deduction. You might still benefit from deducting employee expenses, but not as much as someone with more overnights.
Everything seems to have worked okay. It almost seems too good to be true! I came out with $8,200 or so and per diem reimbursed of about $5,800, so I guess the difference is $2,400. That should save me about $450 or $500. Gotta love that!

What a great site! This was the first year I decided to add the per diem to the tax write offs.....What was I thinking? I just wanted to let you know that your site worked great!
