The EZPerDiem Affiliate Program

The EZPerDiem affiliate program is the perfect way for you to:

  1. Help others learn about the tremendous tax savings they can get by using EZPerDiem.
  2. Earn some extra cash for yourself.

All you have to do is spread the word.  EZPerDiem gives you the tools to do it.  The following Q&A will help you better understand the EZPerDiem Affiliate Program better.

How do I become an EZPerDiem affiliate?

Every user of EZPerDiem is automatically an affiliate.  When you first join EZPerDiem as a client, you're automatically given a promo code.  That promo code is unique to you.  When you give that promo code to others to use when they join for the first time, it gives those users a discount, and it credits you for the referral.

How much of a discount do my referrals get?

Your referrals get a 10% discount from off their fee the first year they pay.  To get the discount, all your referrals need to do is enter your promo code when they first sign up.  You can also get referrals by clicking the "Refer a Friend and Get Paid" link and entering emails of friends who might benefit.  The first user to enter a person's email is credited for the referral if the person you refer signs up and pays.

Do my referrals get the discount every year they pay?

No.  Your referrals only get the discount the first year they pay.  You, as the referrer continue to get paid each year they come back and pay as long as you remain an active affiliate.

Can I get business cards to distribute in my crew room?

Yes.  When you are logged in as an affiliate, you will be able to request to have business cards sent to you.

How much do I get paid for a referral?

You get 10% of their calculated payment amount.  For example, assume a person you refer is going to pay for a service that costs $48.95.  Assume they were offered a special discount from us that gives them $15 off.  They are therefore going to pay $48.95 - $15.00 = $33.95 before referral discounts are considered.  They would get $3.95 off the first year price and you would get $3.95 for the referral that year.

In future years, you will continue to receive 10% of their calculated payment amount as long as you remain active.

Do I get paid for my referrals every year my referrals pay?

As long as you remain active, you continue to get paid for recurring years when your referrals come back and pay.

What is the "Refer a Friend and Get Paid" link about?

This allows you to enter emails of friends you might want to refer.  This will send an instant message on your behalf, plus we may contact them once before tax season until they pay.

Can I change my promo code?

Yes.  From your affiliate page, you can change your promo code to an easy-to-remember word so that you can use that instead of the pre-generated code.  Your old code will continue to work if you change your code.  You can change your code as many times as you wish, and your old codes will continue to work.

If I change my promo code, will my old code(s) still work?

Yes, but there is a restriction you should be aware of. EZPerDiem saves up to three of your prior codes that you have created, but beyond that it deletes them.  So, if you change your code once or twice, then all of the new referral codes you have used will all work for you and link to your account, but if you change it more than three times, then the oldest code will no longer work.

For example, assume your original promo code was "C21234", and you decided to change the code to the word "green".  In that case, both the word "green" and the code "C21234" will work for you and give you credit when referrals enter them and pay.  Now assume you do not like the word "green", so you choose the word "doggy" instead.  In that case, the words "doggy" and "green" will both work and so will your original code of "C21234".

The only way the codes begin to drop off is if you change it more than three times.  In that case, the oldest code will be removed and will no longer work.  This will never drop out your original code.  It only drops out the oldest "changed" code.  So if you decided to create five codes like:

green
doggy
housefly
monkey
clouds

then only housefly, monkey, and clouds would be saved and point to your account when people enter them.  The first two (the oldest) that you created get deleted and are available to be picked up by someone else.

The reason we do this is so no one person can try to take hundreds of words as their own.

Are codes case-sensitive?

No.  The word "green" is equal to "GREEN", or "Green", or "GrEeN".

I have already shared my old original promo code with others.  Will it mess it up if I change my code?

Your original code will continue to work, even if you change it more than three times.  Essentially, by changing the code, you are just creating an alias code that gets redirected to your original code that was set by the computer when you first signed up.  The original code is permanent and does not get changed.

Why should I change my promo code from the default code used?

The format of a promo code set by the system is not very user-friendly.  It is often difficult for people to remember.  By changing it, you can create your own code (simply a word), that you will easily remember.  That way, when you want to tell someone to use your code for a discount, you will simply tell them the easy-to-remember one you created.

Can I use numbers in my changed promo code?

No.  The changed promo code can only be letters.  It must be 4 to 8 characters in length.  The following are examples of good and bad codes:

Acceptable Codes Unacceptable Codes
mouse bus (too short)
softball 1Life (can't contain numbers)
book convoluted (too long)
MyTaxes Excite! (no special characters allowed)

Can someone else create the same word I did for a promo code?

No.  You are the only one who gets the word that you create.  If it is already in the system, EZPerDiem will not let you get the word.  If you have a code, no one else can get it unless you create more than the limit of three and they begin to drop out of the system.

Do I actually get paid cash?

Yes.  EZPerDiem now pays all affiliates in real money.  We no longer use credit to reduce fees as a payment method.  This allows us to simplify the billing process, and it motivates more people to spread-the-word.

Will my past referrals ever stop paying me?

Only if you become inactive.  To remain active, you must get two referrals in a given year.  If you become inactive one year, but the next year you become active again, your payments will resume and you will continue to be credited for the referrals you had before you became inactive.

Do I have to pay taxes on my referral income?

Can I use facebook to refer people?

Yes.  Facebook is one of the best ways for you to quickly and easily earn credit for referrals.  Wherever you see a facebook share link like this, simply click it, and enter your promo code.

How do I receive my referral income?

EZPerDiem needs some basic information to be able to pay you for your referrals.  You can provide this information in the Settings Page if you are logged in as a normal user, or you can provide it in via the affiliate login.  The information we need is:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Address
  • Phone

Is there a minimum amount I need to accrue before I receive payment?

Yes.  If your account is less than $50, you will not be paid that year.  Rather, the account will continue to grow until it exceeds $50.  At that point you will be paid at the next affiliate payment date.

How often does EZPerDiem pay affiliates?

EZPerDiem pays affiliates once per year, shortly after tax season.  Generally, all affiliate payments are made before May 30 of each year.

What happens if I do not provide the payment information before payments are made for the year?

The money will remain in EZPerDiem's account until you provide the required payment information.  You will have to wait until the following year to receive the money if you do not have this information set up before the affiliate payment date.  If you wish to be paid for your referrals in a given year, please have the required information set up before April 15th.

Do I lose the money in my account if I do not set up my payment information?

You will not lose any money owed to you if you forget to provide your payment information.  It will simply carry forward to the following affiliate payment date.  If you become an inactive affiliate at some point and money is owed to you, you will receive that money, but you will not accrue any other income from your past affiliates.

How do I remain an active affiliate each year?

If you have two new referrals in a given year, you are considered active.  If you have less than two, you are considered inactive.  All inactive affiliates stop accruing money from their past referrals.

How do I check to see how many referrals I have?

Under the affiliates menu, click "Affiliate login" to see data about your referrals.

Can two people have the same referral?

No.  Only one person can be credited for referring a client.

Can past users of EZPerDiem become a referral?

No.  Once a person becomes an EZPerDiem client, they can no longer become a referral for someone if they did not enter a promo code when they signed up.
